Approximately 4500 children are in foster care in Louisiana on any given day. As children are removed, they often leave home with only the clothes on their backs. This traumatic situation is sometimes made more difficult when they arrive at a foster home, without items of their own—no toothbrush, underwear, or pajamas.

This summer, with the help of our church partners, over 250 3 Day Bags were filled and distributed to state offices throughout Southeast Louisiana. These 3 Day Bags are age and gender-specific and provide basic necessities, allowing the foster family to focus on connecting with children as they enter their home. These bags are a WIN for foster families, as well as the churches that participate. Many churches had their small groups work together to fill bags, allowing whole families OR adults and kids to participate in the project.
