ā€œIf I could have Anna Palmer in every region of the state, we would be golden.ā€

Marketa Walters, Secretary of Department of Children and Family Services

Congrats to Anna Palmer, our Executive Director, for receiving the 2019 Blue Cross Foundation Angel Award. This award ā€œhonors everyday people doing extraordinary good to meet the physical, emotional, creative, or spiritual needs of Louisianaā€™s kids.ā€ Anna and Crossroads NOLA were highlighted at the 25th Annual Angel Award Gala. Anna talked about Crossroads NOLAā€™s work to recruit and train foster families, as well as leading training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention to bring hope and healing to children in foster care. ā€œWe know that every adult in the life of a child whoā€™s experienced trauma has an opportunity to have a healing interaction with them.ā€ Crossroads NOLA is dedicated to equipping those who interact with children to do so.

ā€œOne of the things I appreciate about Crossroads and Anna Palmer is that they call us out to be better. We were meant to be the avenue of hope. We were meant to be the avenue of healing for broken peopleā€¦.This is our call, and hereā€™s an organization that is going to teach us to be better.ā€
